New Research Projects Remote Clinical Monitoring to Double in the Next 4 Years

By December 20th, 2021No Comments

Cary, N.C. – February 8, 2011 – Industry Standard Research (ISR) today announced the launch of two new and substantial research reports titled “The Future of Clinical Monitoring” and “Clinical Development Staff Quality and Resourcing Models“.

“It seems that every week brings the announcement of another merger or acquisition between biopharma companies or between CROs. The industry’s executives are searching for value and efficiencies that will allow them to get more out of their pipelines and infrastructure than ever before. Our two latest reports tap into that same sentiment by examining alternative approaches to gaining efficiencies in product development”, explained Kevin Olson, CEO, ISR. Olson went on to state: “One of the reports, The Future of Clinical Monitoring, dives deep into one of product development’s single largest cost drivers – clinical monitoring. This research shows that some alternative monitoring models are currently receiving significant attention and that adoption of these particular models is likely to be substantially greater in 2015.”

Some report highlights:

Clinical Development Staff Quality and Resourcing Models

  • Missing Timelines, General Lack of Trust, and Poor Data Quality lead to significant sponsor oversight of service providers.
  • Sponsors expect more years of experience from Lead Regulatory staff (and less from CRAs) than any other outsourced staff position.

The Future of Clinical Monitoring

  • Concerns for data quality cause many to avoid the adoption of new monitoring models.
  • Alternative models for clinical monitoring are likely to see an increase through 2015 and traditional, on-site monitoring is likely to see a decrease during this time.

Kevin Olson, CEO of Industry Standard Research, further explains: “Our customers now recognize that our reports tackle some of the industry’s biggest issues and probably none better than these two. These were designed to provide significant value to sponsors and service providers alike.”
